Our Impact

The Challenge

As part of its multi-cloud strategy, MLP Finanzberatung SE requires a reliable cloud infrastructure and a CI/CD route for software development and the operation of applications.

The task is to train MLP's IT departments in the use of new technologies and to ensure secure operation in cooperation with external service providers.

The Solution

MLP is developing a new developer platform for DevOps teams in individual development. By integrating cloud services, the platform enables an independently managed cloud environment. This offers development teams more freedom in the new architecture compared to traditional data centers. On this journey, Exxeta not only provides support with the design, but also sets up the DevOps environment and the Kubernetes cluster in the Google Cloud Platform and takes care of its operation.

The central elements of the solution include:

  • Takeover of operations: We continuously monitor and operate the development, test and production platforms. This includes the management of a variety of DevOps tools, including Jenkins, Nexus, Bitbucket, Sonarqube, Jira, Confluence, RabbitMQ, Redis and an Elastic Stack.

  • Administrative automation: We develop administrative utilities for process automation that make operations more efficient.

  • Monitoring and security: We implement logging, monitoring, backup, security and documentation. This enables us to guarantee that we adhere to compliance requirements and security standards.

  • Support & training: We set up a 16/5 support and service desk using Google GCP and Kubernetes and hold training courses for MLP employees to strengthen their skills in using the new technologies.

In addition to the technical components, we provide MLP with ongoing consulting support to sustainably support the DevOps teams and MLP's cloud-based platform infrastructure and architecture community. We always keep an eye on the latest requirements and challenges to ensure that the platform always meets the latest standards.

Integrating cloud infrastructure into existing processes

One of the biggest challenges of this project is to seamlessly integrate the new cloud infrastructure into MLP's existing processes. To this end, we are holding workshops to familiarize MLP's teams with the new technologies and ensure that everyone involved, whether internal or external developers, works closely together. This structured approach not only increases acceptance, but also enables us to make the development process more efficient.

Scalable solutions for exponential growth

The platform is growing continuously. With the introduction of new applications and a growing number of users, the need for resources is also increasing. No problem for the new architecture, as it guarantees full flexibility. It allows us to scale resources in line with demand. Costly and inflexible hardware investments are therefore not necessary. This not only reduces overall expenditure, but also significantly increases the company's agility.

In order to remain competitive as a company, it is important to react quickly to market changes and customer requirements. Our DevOps and CI/CD pipelines ensure this. Thanks to them, developers can quickly and flexibly transfer new applications to production. This means that MLP not only remains at the cutting edge of technology, but is also able to implement innovative solutions quickly.
